Faithfulness

In my study today I came upon a verse which struck me to the heart:

Hebrews 11:8
By Faith, Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place which he would receive afterward as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.

What an amazing testimony! Abraham followed God's calling to a place he didn't know how to get to and a place where he wasn't sure what he would find upon his arrival. How often are we spurred to step out in faith only to make so many of our own plans that we are deaf to the Lord's?

Abraham's example is very near and dear to my heart as about 11 years ago I stepped out in faith to attend Cedarville. It was scary and lonely and oh so far from home, but God has certainly blessed me abundantly beyond what I could ever have asked or hope as a result of following His leading. I wish I could say I was always so keen to follow--this is unfortunatley NOT the case!

I pray that I would have the faith of Abraham--to go where God directs and do what pleases Him even though I have know idea where I'll end up!

Really good Michelle. That verse had hit me before, too. When are you finding is a good time to do devotions?

One of the things that I have always struggled with is the fact that prov 3:5-6 is a COMMAND. Trusting the Lord is a choice. Also it is NOT trusting, if I can see how things are going to work out. Every time I worry....I need to realize that it is sin (boy do I have a long ways to go in the trusting category!)
great job with the new eating and exercise...you have inspired your mom :o)
